Self-soothe: restorative & nidra yoga
Wednesdays 7.30pm, Helen Ayling Yoga
Service Description
In a world gone mad and everything is so fast and full on, give yourself some time for you and go slow. Restorative and nidra yogas work on the nervous system supporting us to let go of fighting and flighting, allowing us to self soothe and remember how to rest. You'll learn tools for down regulating the nervous system and supporting you to go from surviving to thriving and making choices informed choices based on what's important to you, rather than from a place of fear or panic. In restorative yoga we hold postures for longer periods of time, supported by props so that the muscles can let go into the support and this allows connective tissues to let go of gripping. Combined with breathwork and creating pressure on specific points in the body, we work through the body to allow the nervous system to re-regulate and return to balance. Yoga nidra is body based guided meditation that's specifically designed to encourage theta brainwaves which are necessary for rest, healing, creativity and imagination.
