Midsummer Exhale: Somatic movement & meditation

Saturday 12th July
10am - 1pm

Imagine three hours just for you - to move, breathe, rest, and reset.  

​

In collaboration with Amalithia, I am offering an opportunity to soothe the anxiety, stress, constant switched on state; to reset the exhaustion, depression, lack of motivation and learn some tools to support you to calm your nervous system back to a space of safety 

​

Join me and Amalia at the beautiful Let's Retreat yoga yurts in Angmering, West Sussex.  Not far London, Brighton, Southampton but surrounded by countryside, a world away from your daily life.

​

Give yourself a mini day retreat to rest, restore, reconnect to your body, to community, and replenish in nature.  

​

Large yurts with floors and wood fired burners, fully equipped with all you need to practice yoga.  

​

A deep practice of yoga and meditation to create safety so you can connect and honour your own embodied wisdom, opening the heart to acceptance, compassion and love 

​

Tea and snacks provided

Lots of parking provided and Arundel and Angmering train stations are nearby (taxi to the site costs around £5-10)

Join me for a morning all about you.  Leave your day to day responsibilities, facades, roles behind for a day, and come as you are in all your wildness, power and beauty (and tiredness, worn outness, fed upness....and anything else) to nourish and restore your body, your soul, your heart. Come for rest, come for nurture, come to learn, come to let go.  

 

We are all living in a world where we’re required to be permanently switched on, stressed out, exhausted, and fearful of literally everything. No wonder our nervous systems are stuck in fight and flight, feeling scared, unsafe, wired, exhausted, wanting to fight and run away from everything and just hide under our duvets. Somatics gets you in touch with your nervous system, and supports you to gently find ways to let go of some of the intense gripping. Our nervous systems aren’t designed to stay permanently switched on, its designed to run away from tigers. Ruth will support you to release the tension gently, slowly, and give you tools to do that in daily life. This means you won’t permanently be running on adrenaline and cortisol. It’ll allow other hormones to come back online. In doing so, you’ll have greater awareness of what’s going on for you and can choose how best to support you. You’ll sleep better, eat better, take care of yourself better, understand and hold your own boundaries, and then you’ll have more capacity to support others.

Let's retreat are some large yoga yurts on beautiful farmland surrounded by a lake in Angmering.  Ducks, geese, owls and other birds roam freely.  They are fully heated with wood burners to keep us cosy (if we need it), wood floors and are designed for yoga, meditation and spiritual practice.  Yoga mats, blankets, blocks, bolsters, eye pillows are all provided. There is parking a few minutes from the yurts and the nearest train stations are Arundel and Angmering.  Taxis are just £5-10 from either stations.  We will also have yummy cake and tea.  The grounds are beautiful for walking in and there's a lake to watch the bird on.  There are a number of places nearby for lunch.
