About the Event

This is a really nurturing and grounding online workshop to connect with the energies of the winter solstice (in the northern hemisphere).  This is a time of reflection, review, nourishing, turning inward, drawing in your energies, letting go of what no longer serves and considering what seeds you're planting for the new year.  Part of what's needed for this process is allowing deep listening and deep acceptance of what is.

To support you at this time, Chiara and Ruth are offering you a restorative and nourishing workshop of yin yoga and yoga nidra.  These are both really deep and restorative practices.  Yin will focus on making space inside and honouring things just as they are. We will work with acupressure points, meridians and the deep tissues of the fascia - allowing sadness, grief and any other profound feelings to be heard, honoured and, if it feels right, released.  Nidra will focus on grounding and drawing your energy inwards to reflect on the past year, finding a space for deep rest and healing to allow intentions for the new year to emerge at the heart centre.

We'll also have ceremony and ritual to honour the time of year, the shifting of seasons and the darkness including candlelight ceremony, reiki meditation, oracle readings, mantra for deep listening and intention setting.

We open the zoom room at 3.45pm for anyone who would like to connect and share informally and then we'll begin officially at 3.55pm with a candlelight opening ceremony.  After some meditation, oracle cards and mantra we will practice Yin for the stomach and spleen meridians.  Yin yoga is closely related to traditional chinese medicine practices.  It creates depth through holding postures for longer periods of time.  Then we will set some intentions before settling down into yoga Nidra, yogic sleep, a guided meditation of visualisation to support deep rest and rejuvenation.  After Nidra we will invite you to stay inside, connecting to the stillness and quiet within as we close the session by 6.30pm.

This workshop won't be recorded so it can only be enjoyed live.  This is to support greater connection and community during the event.
