We are all living in a world where we’re required to be permanently switched on, stressed out, exhausted, and fearful of literally everything. No wonder our nervous systems are stuck in fight and flight, feeling scared, unsafe, wired, exhausted, wanting to fight and run away from everything and just hide under our duvets. Somatics gets you in touch with your nervous system, and supports you to gently find ways to let go of some of the intense gripping. Our nervous systems aren’t designed to stay permanently switched on, its designed to run away from tigers. Ruth will support you to release the tension gently, slowly, and give you tools to do that in daily life. This means you won’t permanently be running on adrenaline and cortisol. It’ll allow other hormones to come back online. In doing so, you’ll have greater awareness of what’s going on for you and can choose how best to support you. You’ll sleep better, eat better, take care of yourself better, understand and hold your own boundaries, and then you’ll have more capacity to support others.
