Somatic coaching is all about reconnecting with you, in order to find more safety, more space, to get to know who you are without the masking, the boxes, and being told who you are.
It's an embodied practice meaning we will be connecting to your body and what is arising for you in the body. I may offer practices to support greater awareness of this, grounding, orienting, finding safety, soothing the nervous system. This may include breathwork, guided meditations, body scans, restorative yoga postures, or other body movement.
It is also client led, which means that you are in control. We will talk about whatever you want to talk about, and all practices, teachings or approaches are suggestions and you can choose whether it feels good for you in that moment. Everything is a choice, an invitation, and you are welcome to say no.
Coaching is different from therapy. It is about what is here in the present moment whether that is a challenge, barrier, or something you want to change. And then what you might do to overcome it, change it, create something new, or move from where you are currently to where you want to be in the future.
Some possibilities are:
You are feeling a bit stuck and you need support to work out how to get unstuck.
You're experiencing pain in the body and you'd like to be pain free or manage pain better.
You're noticing you're people pleasing and keep letting people walk all over your boundaries and you want to find ways to do this that don't send you into a fear of rejection or full blown panic.
You're noticing how you're masking and want to find ways to stop doing that when appropriate.
You will need to take a degree of accountability and responsbility for the things you'll do to move you to where you want to be, and this requires a degree of inner and outer resourcing.
To complete my training and become qualified as a somatic coach I need to undertake a number of practice coaching hours, and I need to complete some case studies. I am offering this for free because I am still learning and so you are my guinea pigs! But that is not to say I don't have a huge amount of experience in somatics, trauma resilience, group facilitation and lived experience. This is for the coaching element of it.
The offer is 3 x 50 minute free coaching sessions. Bring an issue you want to work on and that you think embodied coaching approaches might support you in. To find out if I'm a good fit for you and vice versa, I'm offering 20 minute initial chats to talk about what you want to bring, my approach, where my interests lie, and whether I can support you. I will select 3 of the people I work with for case studies but I will discuss this with you ahead of time and you can agree or not to become one.
Initial chats are on zoom and 20 minutes on selected Thursdays and Fridays. If we both agree that we want to work together, then the coaching sessions are 50 minutes long and there will be 3 of them. These can be on zoom or in person in my garden summerhouse. It's up to you the frequency of these and once we agree to work together (there will be a contract, agreements, and t&cs that I'll send you) you can book in the sessions when and where it suits you.
